did anyone see that target commercial where the mom bought herself a tv? i think they tried to make it a funny sort of snob appeal, but it came off too serious in a sort of really odd aggressive pampering campaign.

it reminds me of that family guy episode where they did a cutaway with malcom in the middle. the dad kills the mom, they pause, and they're like "were free!"

To explain that "pink" comment I posted on my facebook (to a friend that's on here as well, and it is hilarious that it's for a girl), my home multimedia server died a few days ago. I went out and ordered a new Dell desktop and they had this option to buy all these "pink" accessories such as mice and stuff to support breast cancer awareness. I'm not against awareness by any means, but what drives me nuts is that people that wouldn't write a check to a cause, in which 100% of the proceeds would go to said cause, would rather buy something with a logo on it, to which less than 30 cents goes to said cause simply for the social graces having said item brings.

Did you notice that basically all these"awareness" fads are perpetuated by rich stay at home white moms? I thought it was pretty cool for once for the state government to tell the autism people to stuff it and use the money they've already been given (which they haven't been) rather than ask for more.

It's really just the fault of the media.. I know, there's plenty of people out there doing all sorts of good, but we don't hear about it because it's not as easy as wearing a pink tshirt to the PTA meeting.

so in changing sites, my wordpress install was upgraded, and now none of the plugins i wanted to use work. i guess it's security or something, but every time firefox or anything else updates, the plugins dont work until the developer plays catch up. you'd think knee deep into web 2.0 they'd have this stuff knocked down to a industry standard by now.

If Surrogates is a US take on Ghost In The shell? It was mentioned to me it's just another zombie flic and robotic bodies were just a zombie plot device, but there's an interesting parallel there, and it's got bruce willis!

I don't know what I'm trying to say here, so bare with me.. but what does it take to get any sort of meaningful feedback from people? Meaning I have my efforts in several creative endeavors but I rarely, if ever, receive feedback. I know whatever it is I'm doing is being appreciated from watching the bookmarks, downloads, hits etc. but it's kind of not the same as getting a simple thank you.

I understand I have several knocks against me: I'm not a hot chick, an attention whore, or putting out stuff for ready made groups of people (IE star trek fans) and I also don't advertise that much.But I guess my question is, what it is that you do or or need to do that will move you to a position where you can get meaningful feedback from people?

but explain to me why there's laws in place to keep adult businesses so many feet miles from schools and houses.. but yet you can go to the mall and get the same adult items from spencer's, on the shelf and in plain graphic view of everyone and the same DVDs @ FYE right next to the anime area, which kids are mainly interestead in, at the mall, where parents drop their kids off for days at a time?

they also will have the entire series of mary tyler moore, but no magnum pi.

but anyway.. that all hit me at the mall yesterday. that's fucked up.

So I go to the Best Buy near my work to get a cable and a Magnum Pi DVD. I instead buy a mini kaoss pad and said cable. They have no Magnum PI. Yet they have 4,000 copies of time Tunnel. and many more other series which don't bare mention. Y? Y is Magnum PI the only series on netflix online that has episodes not avaible online? (they have some but not all). I can sit through 136 hours of all 8 seasons of mind numbing Night Rider melodrama, but no Magnum. For he is a cruel god.. but he does gives mini kps.
